TIRES

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources recommends proper tire disposal to help prevent illegal dumping, reduce fire hazards, and eliminate mosquito breeding areas caused by standing water in discarded tires.

Tires should never be burned or placed in regular trash. When properly recycled, they can be repurposed into products such as playground surfaces, road materials, and rubberized mulch.
