Our landfill provides a safe and responsible place for residents and businesses to dispose of waste that can’t be recycled. From household trash to larger items, we are here to help ensure proper disposal.
Tipping fees at the landfill:

The Landfill accepts clean concrete and black dirt at no charge.
To qualify, materials must be clean, meaning they are free of trash, wood, metal, plastic, or any other debris. Loads containing mixed materials may be subject to disposal fees.
All loads must still stop at the scale house for check-in before unloading.

Grass Clippings should be taken to your local yard waste collection site or composting facility.
Paint, batteries, liquids, and chemicals should be brought to the Household Hazardous Materials (HHM) Collection Center.
Shredded tires are not accepted at the landfill.
If you have questions about a specific item, please contact our office, and we will help direct you to the appropriate disposal method.

Iowans send roughly 2.8 million tons of solid waste to landfills each year. About 40% of the nearly 3.5 million tons landfilled could have been recycled or composted, representing nearly $100 million in lost value.
