Hazardous waste produced by businesses must be handled with care. It is illegal to dispose of hazardous waste in a dumpster, pour it down drains, release it into the air, or take it to a landfill or transfer station. All businesses are required to follow these regulations, regardless of the amount of hazardous waste they generate. The quantity of waste a business produces or stores determines which federal rules apply.
Businesses that generate less than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month, less than 2.2 pounds of acutely hazardous waste per month, or less than 220 pounds of hazardous spill residue per month may qualify as a Very Small Quantity Generator (VSQG).

If you’re a business in our service area and generate hazardous materials, you may be eligible for the Very Small Quantity Generator Program (VSQG).
To qualify for our services, your business must fall under the EPA's Very Small Quantity Generators (VSQG's) requirements.
